Frequently asked questions

If the answer you need is not here, the contact page reaches us directly.

Is your data updated in real time?

Yes, for live matches. Scores, serve, set scores and in-play statistics update point by point while a match is being played, and match odds are recorded as they move.

The ratings are a different matter by design. Serve-IQ, Return-IQ, Matchup-IQ, Profile-IQ and the rest are computed from history as it stood before a match starts, and they do not move during it. That is deliberate: a pre-match read that quietly updated itself mid-match would be impossible to judge afterwards.

How accurate is the data?

Match data is quality-checked before it reaches the site, and the ratings are rebuilt whenever the history underneath a player changes rather than on a timer. If you think something is wrong, please tell us – a fair number of the corrections made here started with a member noticing a figure that did not look right.

Can I backtest my own rules?

Yes. Match Filter lets you build rules from the statistics on the site and test them against the last twelve months, with the strike rate, the baseline it has to beat, the break-even price and the return laid out beside each other. The same rules then pick out upcoming matches, and can flag them on the fixtures list.

Can I use scripts or automation to collect the data?

No. This is forbidden by our terms. Any attempt to access the site by automated means outside normal human browsing may result in your IP being blocked and your account closed.

Is there an API?

Not for tennis at present. Sports-IQ offers a football API through RapidAPI; there is no tennis equivalent yet. If you need data access for commercial, research or media purposes, please ask us – written permission in advance is the route, not scraping.

How far back does the history go?

Match results and statistics run from 1984 to the present across the ATP and WTA tours, with draws, seeds, prize money and past champions for the tournaments we cover. The two tours are kept entirely separate throughout – they are different populations and mixing them would make every comparison meaningless.

Is it free, or do I need to subscribe?

A great deal of the site is open to everyone, and a free account opens more. Pro Membership adds the parts that take the most work to produce: the full Match Intelligence read on every fixture, Profile-IQ and Elo on player pages, saved Match Filters with backtesting and fixture flags, TradeSense, and the live odds movement. See Subscriptions.

What makes this different from other tennis sites?

Two things. The measures here are ones you cannot usually get – opponent-adjusted performance, the specific serve/return interaction between two named players, whether a match should play serve-dominated – rather than the same averages presented differently. And the site is built with Trading The Market, by people who trade, so it answers the questions a trader actually asks rather than the ones that are easy to compute.

Do you tell me who is going to win?

No, and we are careful about this. No product here outputs a win probability and none should be read as one. Match Intelligence describes how well what we measure agrees with the market favourite – it is a description of the evidence, not a prediction of the result, and not betting advice.
